Social-Emotional Learning creates deeper engagement and more personalised responses for each student’s learning in your subject area. Instead of being an “add-on,” Social-Emotional Learning is the lens through which we can view the routines and pedagogical practices in our classrooms to maximise student learning. This workshop will give a brief introduction to the principles of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and the supporting evidence for including SEL in all content-area classrooms. We’ll look at practical classroom routines along with pedagogical strategies that will build your toolkit of approaches to your students’ social-emotional learning, as the foundation to more effective learning in your subject area.
